Re: [ecco_pro] Re: Check mark/pull down column

I'll expand a bit on yswt's third suggestion (copied below).

We use nested folders quite a bit for certain categories of data.

The good news: this nicely supports the original request. What you get once
setup:

* A column that contains the data for whatever set of folders you want (in your
case, a
list of other folders related to this record). Only values with data in them are
shown. [We
use this to provide a column showing all phone numbers, relationships, financial
info,
survey responses, etc etc]

* Easy editing (click on the "cell" and up pops a mini-form allowing you to
check/uncheck
the other folders or fill in other folder info as you see fit)

The bad news: in a multiuser system, you must set this up for each user's local
file. The
setup is stored in each Ecco file, not in the shared database. To set up:

* Open the folder view (arrow at bottom-left of the Ecco screen; many don't know
about
this!)
* Create a (checkmark) folder to be the column placeholder (e.g. "Folders" for
you?)
* Drag the other folders underneath the placeholder folder
* Drag the placeholder into your notepad column view

Now set it up to show the subfolders:
* Right click on the placeholder folder header (its name) in your notepad view
* Select 'properties...'
* Click on the 'Sub Folders of "<name>" that contain item' radio button and
accept

Hope that helps!
