As of this morning, we have 465 responses through http://www.companionlink.com/eccopro/. Most are in favor of some type of sync tool. About 15% are comments to keep development of EccoPro alive (not necessarily sync-related, but the PIM).

The number of comments received thus far gives us a good sample set of the consumer mindset.

We are amazed by how many people value the sync solution at just $20 or less. I think there is a direct correlation between the donate-ware business model of EccoPro and consumer expectations. Consumers might be hard-pressed to spend $50 or more on a sync solution for a PIM that they get for free. However, a sync tool will be the gateway for many to move to newer devices. This is valuable.

Regardless, the next step is with ecco toolkits available to determine how hard it would be to integrate EccoPro into CompanionLink products.  I have offered them our help, some of us have the knowledge to contribute and if it is just for debuging anything they would come up with.
