Is it really an economic question? It seems to me like a political
question, Europe is neither democratic nor capable of being democratic, and
it will have to have a "one size fits all" economic policy at least to some
extent. This means that countries like Italy and Ireland can't cut taxes
and others like France and Greece can't raise spending. That is the
economic problem, people can't choose the system that suits them best, and
not the characteristics of EU economic management.
