Synopsis
The talk will cover the main patterns of bird migration in East Asia, and
the importance of key sites and habitats. The talk will then discuss the
main conservation issues facing migratory birds in the region, discuss the
necessary actions and the need for international cooperation, including a
summary of BirdLife's work for conservation of migratory species.
About the speaker
Richard Grimmett is the Head of BirdLife Asia Division, based in the
regional office for Asia in Tokyo. BirdLife is a global partnership of bird
and nature conservation organisations represented in over 100 counties.
Nature Society (Singapore) is the BirdLife Partner in Singapore.
