The Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research, National University of
Singapore is advertising for a suitable candidate to fill the post of

The requirements are as below:
- Polytechnic diploma in bioscience, Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of
Science (Honours) or MSc degree in zoology or biology.
- As this job involves a large amount of contact with dead and
preserved animal specimens, must be able to tolerate these.
- Must be reasonably fit and able to conduct outdoor work.
- Must have a reasonably good command of the English language.
- Driving licence preferred.
- Non-smoker preferred.
The duties and responsibilities include:
- Curation of the collections of crustacean, cnidarian, echinoderm
and/or other taxa in the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research. An
appointee who lacks the expertise will obtain on-the-job training.
- Building and managing the database of the collections of crustacean,
cnidarian, echinoderm and/or other taxa in the Raffles Museum of
Biodiversity Research.
- Processing and managing of loans of specimens.
- Maintenance of facilities and laboratory equipment in the museum's
premises.
- Purchasing of consumables such as containers and alcohol.
- Attending to, and assisting visiting research personnel in locating
specimens and field work.
- Field work and biodiversity surveys.
Salaries will be determined by the NUS Office of Human Resources but will be
equivalent to those of the Civil Service in Singapore, for the same
qualifications. Male Singapore citizens who have served National Service
will also be given two increments. Experience may also be taken into
consideration.
This is a one-year contract, but renewable on a yearly basis.
