The position offers a great opportunity to experience both technical and
educational aspects of sustainable development within a campus environment.
The Sustainability Executive must have a passion for the environment,
possess excellent writing skills and is technically inclined towards energy
or facility management. Reporting to the Head of the Office of Environmental
Sustainability, the Sustainability Executive shall develop, plan, coordinate
and implement programs and policies (technical or education-based) related
to carbon footprint reduction at the NUS campuses. The Sustainability
Executive shall also be responsible for encouraging and facilitating
sustainability programs initiated by the student, faculty and staff
community members to achieve sustainability objectives.
The position is also required to plan activities including, but not limited
to, seminars, conferences, workshops, competitions and other related
programs at NUS. Both the manner in which these activities are organized and
the nature of their content should be geared towards achieving buy-in and
habit transformation from student, faculty and staff community members.
Part of the work scope entails developing plans, preparing and supervising
the production of newsletters, reports and other environmental promotional
materials and/or publications, preparing press releases and responding to
inquiries.
Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree, preferably M&E engineering related
· Good knowledge and keen interest in the environment and the field
of sustainable development
· Superior writing, communication, analytical and organisational
skills
· Extremely versatile and able to work independently and efficiently
· Strong ability to work constructively with a wide range of
partners
