I don't think so. If you're capturing output from a user tool, you
might be able to run it through a command-line filter to wrap lines.
I've only tried it briefly, but you might want to look at LM

Thanks .. I found a solution from this thread ..

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/editplus/message/3738

using command line options, EditPlus can open a selected file inside
Output Window.

argument is -o <filename.ext>

Looking at command line option again .. strange .. it seems to only
work when launching EditPlus .. i.e. if EditPlus is already running
the output window is not loaded with the target file.

Must be a way to use command line options with EditPlus instance
running.

But I'll also look more closely into LM .. looks interesting.

Subject: Specifying relative paths for EditPlus component files

Hello!

I have EditPlus installed on my USB flash drive. I use it on a number
of different computers (home, work, friends'...), which run different
operating systems (XP, 98SE, ME...). The drive letter assigned to the
flash drive depends on the computer I am using.

How can I configure EditPlus so that it can find the syntax, template,
project, autocompletion etc. files no matter what computer I'm working
on? I tried specifying relative paths in the .ini files (e.g. \Program
Files\EditPlus\ or ..\Program Files\...) but that doesn't work.

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Regards,

Steven Nagy

Feature Request:
Copy to Clipboard preserves color highlighting.

Paste into other programs (ex: Microsoft Word) would receive the
colored text.

If you need this feature meanwhile, I think PSPad has a feature which
exports syntax-highlighted HTML, which you can then open in Word.

Sorry for the delay on this one folks. I recently moved across the
country, North Carolina to California, you can read about it here:
http://justinsomnia.org/2005/05/carrboro-to-asheville/

This of course was a problem for sites that I hosted at home. I was
able to move my Wordpress blog over to Dreamhost without much effort,
but when it came to moving the Mediawiki wiki, I just couldn't get it
set up and configured and working the way it should.

Anyway, so of course it took me a lot longer than I'd hoped to get it
set back up--a lot of things just ended up becoming higher priorities,
like unpacking, and finding grocery stores and stuff. Anyway, I spent
some more time today trying to get things set up with Dreamhost, and I
couldn't get it right, so in order to just get things moving, I set my
server up and pointed the DNS to it.

Once the DNS records propogate to your neck of the woods,
http://www.editplus.info/ should be back up in exactly the form it was
when I took it down on May 9th. Eventually I would like it hosted in a
more secure venue--like Dreamhost, but that can wait.

Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks,
Justin

p.s. I'm now living in Santa Rosa, California, about an hour north of
San Francisco. If anyone is in the area and wants to get together for
coffee/beer or maybe just share some west coast insight over email,
send me an email.

One more update. Dean has offered to host the wiki for free at his
hosting service, Surf Experts, so I worked tonight to move the site
over and get it all set up. I also followed the latest advice in
configuring Mediawiki's and it's rewrite rules,

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Eliminating_index.php_from_the_url

so from now on you can link to articles via this notation:

www.editplus.info/wiki/articlename

Once the domain name changes propogate, you should have nonstop
continuous access.

Hi,

I am a long-time user of EditPlus and would like to configure it to
work with F-Secure SSH.

I tried using the instructions for Putty at
http://www.editplus.com/ssh.html but I've had no luck.

It may be a minor configuration issue but I am unable to transpose the
Putty config instructions to F-Secure SSH. Could it be that the
suggested ports are closed on the server?

Has anyone else configured EditPlus to work with F-Secure SSH?

Thank you,

Francis.

Fortunately, the current beta build of EditPlus supports SFTP, so external
clients will no longer be required once v2.2 is released. If you
registered EditPlus, you can ask Sangil for access to the beta builds.

Right now, I'm trying to get it to run BASIC files (you know, the old

I am having a hard time finding a good code executor and compiler that
will work with Edit+.

Does anyone know of any? Thanks for any help.

v2.2 also adds true Ute-8 support, which is something I had been begging
Sangil for over the last year.

Here's what's new in v2.2 so far...

* Supports multiple languages in single Unicode or UTF-8 file.
* Experimental 'Use sftp' option (File->FTP->FTP Settings).
* Embedded script uses its own auto-completion.
* #AUTOCASE=y section added in stx file for automatic case correction.
* Allows auto-completion upon Enter key.
* Supports #HEREDOC=<<EOF section in the syntax file for heredoc strings.
* Syntax highlighting for Perl handles POD.
* Syntax highlighting for HTML handles <![CDATA[ tag.
* 'Create/Rename/Delete Directory' command on the Directory Window.
* 'Open Selection' command (File->Others)
* Increases number of column marker to 10.
* Displays FTP server name.on the Recent Files also.
* Holding Shift key with 'Replace All' button disables Undo feature.
* 'Backup file extension' option (Preferences->Files)
* 'Properties' command on the Directory Window popup menu.
* 'View in Browser' command on the Directory Window popup menu.
* 'Sort' option on the Function List dialog box
* -pr project_name command line option for selecting project.
* Toolbar buttons for Reload, Lock Files, Close All command.
* $(Copy) argument macro to copy selection before running user tool.
* $(Prompt) argument macro for user tool.
* Shows a delete confirmation when it is turned off with Recycle Bin.
* 'Text filter to Output Window' option (Preferences->User tools).
* Max. number of project increased to 70.
* 'Show Markers' option on the Set Column Marker dialog box.
* Resizable Open Remote dialog box.
* Code page option for new files (Preferences->Files).

And here's what's been fixed...

* Upload command could cause error message on program exit.
* 'Copy Append' could cause program crash.
* New version crashed if the old version had the maximum 30 syntax settings.
* 'Always apply wrap' option caused program crash when printing selection.
* 'Leading Spaces to Tabs' command over a selection could crash program.
* 'Matching Brace' option could cause program crash in some cases.
* Overwrite prompt on the Save as Remote dialog box did not work in some
cases.
* 'Duplicate Char' command did not work with variable-width fonts.
* Shortcut key for Directory popup menu could not be set.
* Align commands did not work in word wrap mode.
* Improved warning message for large files.
* 'Stop' command on the output window did not work in some cases.
* FTP file date was not displayed correctly in same cases.
* Perl syntax highlighting was not correct with $' and $" symbol.
* Regular expression '\n' did not work correctly in some cases.
* Regular expression [^] (not in range) did not work with case sensitive
option.
* Firewall option did not work.
* Line Comment command sometimes did not work correctly in word wrap mode.
* Match Brace did not work with embedded script inside quotes.
* Toggling browser and editor with remote files did not work correctly.
* Keystroke recording did not support Find in Files command.
* Matching brace feature did not work correctly at the end of wrapped line.
* Syntax highlighting in some cases failed at the column 4097.
* FTP file list was not correct on some AIX FTP servers.
* Matching Brace feature did not work correctly in some cases.
* 'Delete Marked Lines' command did not work correctly in word wrap mode.
* Change Case commands on column selection could append trailing spaces.
* A screen update problem fixed with custom active line color.

Wow, other developers would see that (Unicode and SFTP alone) as enough
for an increase in major version number. Unicode is currently on top of
my wishlist, but code folding, which doesn't seem to come just yet,
isn't far below. Customizable GUI language would be nice too, to better
promote EP (I rarely read any menus anymore).

Some items in this long list can be found here:

There's a bug fix patch file there that updates to build 225 of 2.12.

Hello,

I've finally finished setting up our cluster, which consists of:

2x Linux directors/loadbalancers for web and ftp services
2x Webservers (one of them - web1 - also runs pure-ftpd)
1x Storage server (shared by the 2 webservers)
etc.. etc...

The solution used is:
http://www.linuxvirtualserver.org/docs/ha/ultramonkey.html

The pure-ftpd on web1 is accesible via the VIP:21 (virtual ip) and works
perfectly when accessed with FTP clients such as Flash-FXP.

However, Editplus freezes as soon as it starts uploading a file, with the
message [Uploading <FILENAME>...]. Usually after a minute or so it throws a
"connection timeout" error.

By looking on the server's filesystem it seems the transfer is initiated, as a
pure-ftpd upload-tempfile is created there.

Editplus has worked perfectly before the LVS thing.

I have tried with the latest 2 beta versions as well as with the official 2.12
version (+bug patchfile) and still encountered the problem.

Has anyone else been faced with this problem before?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried unchecking it? In non-passive mode, the server makes a
connection to the client instead of the other way around, might just
solve the problem when the server's network doesn't allow it to open the
data port... though most servers have a configuration option to specify
the port range for these data connections, so it can be configured in
the firewall, which would be the real solution...

Unchecking does not work either. Passive is the only way it works...

What I can't understand is why other clients can connect and transfer files
fine, while EditPlus can connect but not transfer.

Thanks for trying to help.

Solved by configuring pure-ftpd with the -P flag and a value equal to the VIP of
the LVS

works like a charm :)

I am experimenting with AutoHotKeys scripts to automate entry of
fields and radio buttons in SearchReplace window.

The stated keyboard map (which I need to use to open the window) is
Ctrl+H.

"SearchReplace Ctrl+H Replaces specific text with different text"

But it seems that this keyboard shortcut does not work.

...

Alt+F3 opens the Find window.

Other shortcuts do not work ..

e.g. Function List Ctrl+F11

I have v2.12(225) - Win XP Pro.

Hi sn0wdon,

I have had some issues with macros in EditPlus and I don't have a
great deal of time to solve my issues.

I have found a free utility - PowerPro (http://powerpro.webeddie.com/index.html)
that lets me create HotKey setups (macros) that can apply to nearly any app
by specifying the Window Title (and a wild character).

For example, I like to use tabs as I program but all files need to be saved
with spaces, oh and I hate trailing spaces, so now I have a HotKey - the
NumPad Enter setup to 1. Change tabs to spaces, 2. Trim trailing spaces,
3. Save the File and then 4. Exit EditPlus. (Works about 99% of the time
depends on what mp3 software I have running).

I also use PowerPro with to AutoLogin in my telnet screens, run my toolbar
menu, post-it notes, alarms, etc etc.

Please note, I love EditPlus and I love PowerPro.

I would also love some free mono-spaced fonts other than Andale Mono,
Bitstream Vera Sans Mono, HyperFont, Lucida, Courier, and r_ansi.

HTH
