EFF-Austin is an independent nonprofit civil liberties organization focusing on cyber liberties, digital rights, and emerging technologies. Established in 1991, EFF-Austin would have become the first chapter of the national Electronic Frontier Foundation, but EFF decided not to become a chapters organization. EFF-Austin's mission is similar to that of EFF, but as a separate, independent, organization we tend to focus on issues affecting Texas.
