READY TO EXPLORE? Want to know MORE about the MYSTERIES of ANCIENT EGYPT?......[THIS SITE IS OPEN FOR DISCUSSION AND QUESTIONS ABOUT ANY ANCIENT HISTORY]
Ancient Egypt was one of the beginning civilizations of which we are aware. All discussions regarding ancient Egypt, its' contemporary connections, and the beginnings of these civilizations are welcome, both pro and con.
The photo you see on the right side of this screen is tomb wall art from the tomb of Sennedjen, an official at the time of the XIX Dynasty. It is a depiction of Wsr/Asur, [Greek Osiris]. His green skin color was a symbol of fertility and regeneration,[the renewal of life at springtime, apparently adopted from the earlier gods, Ptah and Andjeti]. On his left, and right, are the 'symbols of Anubis', which originated in very ancient predynastic times as a 'fetish' or emblem/totem of a now long forgotten tribe. It is thought that at one time it may have been called 'imiut', [the one who is in his wrappings' and associated with the first attempts at embalming and mummification.].. On the right is another funerary symbol called the 'nemset,'["nm-st"]. It is a vase on a pedestal and thought to have some association with libations or purification's of water before certain rites or ceremonies,[particularly the "Opening of the Mouth" rites before entombment], to do with funerary traditions. The 'eyes of Horus', or 'Eye of Re' can be seen above the deceased, who is in the mummiform of 'Osiris'.
