Care should be taken when joining dissimiliar materials unless you are using aluminum for leads as well.  For Al to Al joints either welding or compression would seem appropriate.  Oxidation of joint should be addressed to prevent a high resistance joint.

Temperature rise would be addresses in the same manner as copper as insulation material would still be the limiting factor.

i wish to use aluminium winding wire for small electric motors tobe used in fans of 220V. pls tell me how to join the coils of aluminium wire so that they have long life and what precautions are needed when using aluminium wire since we use copper at this time. What should be the temperature rise permisssible and what other things shouldbe paid attention to.

... I think there are chokes which use aluminium wires, but due to oxidation and corrosion etc. joints are not relaible. Of course I am not an expert yet I do...
