Re: Easier mirroring

This solution sounds exactly what I was looking for.

I've only recently started using ECMerge and in general it can do all
the things I need, but I do find knowing how to do them is not
obvious. It would be great to improve the help by having screenshots
explaining what the toolbar buttons do, and some simple examples of
steps and actions needed to achieve tasks.

The help only seems to have more complex examples.

For me, I would appreciate some help on the following Use Case :-

- I work from home sometime, so I need to synchronise a number of
folders to a portable drive

- when I start working at home I would like to do a 'preview'
synchronize just to check there are no changes on both sides. If
there isn't I want to request a mirror copy from external drive to
home Mac

- Then before going to work the next day I want to do exactly the same
but going the other direction Mac to External drive.
etc. etc

The preview synchronise is important to me (as Step 1) as sometimes I
might have made changes on both sides (home and work) and
inadvertently forgotten to mirror copy before starting work. So I
would see them, and need to open up a compare each to perhaps merge
changes from both sides (or choose which to retain)

Step 2 is then actually running the Mirror Copy. I also need to be
able to change the direction of the mirror copy.

If you could explain how to achieve the above with ECMerge as a step
by step guide, I would gladly purchase the product.

thanks
Pete
