thank you for your feedback, it seems our "how to" are too light
and "tutorials" too heavy. we'll try to find more examples in
between :)

the idea to do that would be to setup a folder 2-way merge.
then you can use the Hide identical files option (Folder
comparison/Status Filters/Hide files : All identical check box)
you can base your comparison on file size+dates, so using the
predefined "Check size and date" option in Folder comparison panel
should be OK.
with that, you just have to open/refresh your difference and all the
different files are displayed.
on the remaining items, you can use the Apply merge rules (the macro
to be proposed will do that), selection Mirror left or right, then
select the right target (clicking the glasses changing them into a
small database with yellow arrow).
the bottom view will tell what would be done.

finally, you can have the exact list of the actions that we be done
by running the merge (Write results button) and clicking 'Test'.

indeed changing the target and the action could well be done at
once, though you can also specify both sides as targets (which is
logical to make them identical), and select mirror left/right in a
discriminate way using the 'resolve with left/right' buttons.

I realize that I need somewhat lengthy explanation, for 'not that
hard' problem... a few good buttons/help screens could greatly
improve user experience.
