Description

This group is for discussion of a new major mode for GNU Emacs for editing XML, with support for RELAX NG. This is under development by James Clark. This group will discuss details of what features the mode should provide and how they should work. Also users will be able to get help on using the mode.

... Then there is something wrong with you setup. Try replacing your current .emacs with one that only loads nXml and see if it works then.
