Hi everyone:
I'm sorry that I just have not had the time to devote to properly
managing this group.
I returned to litigating last May. For several years prior to that I
had been in supervisorial and executive positions. I was dying to get
back to litigation, but it is definitely more challenging in terms of
time management.
If one of you would like to serve as the co-administrator of this
group, please let me know. Otherwise, I'm afraid that I will have to
let it go because I just don't have the time to devote to it. I will,
of course, continue to drop on your sites as time allows.
Thanks for your understanding!
JHS
Good morning, everyone!
I have to apologize for not passing as much attention to this group as
I should over the course of the past couple weeks. However, I have a
good reason!
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by the folks at The Rising Blogger.
The site was in trouble and they needed contributing writers in order
to carry on. I told them that I had no interest in "working for"
someone else as a contributor (I already do that at Write Anything, as
you know). However, I let them know that if they were not able to
carry on, I would be willing to take over the site. I had some
specific ideas about changing the site design and approach that I was
interested in implementing, if given the opportunity.
Sure enough. About a week and a half ago, they contacted me again to
say that if I still wanted the site, they would give it to me.
So I got busy! First, I secured a domain name. Then I imported 304
posts from Blogger to WordPress and set about designing the theme &
reformatting all those posts. The job is not close to completion, but
I'm plugging away at it as time allows.
Yesterday, I bestowed my first "Post of the Day Award" upon Laura at
Adventures in Juggling. You can read it here:
http://www.therisingblogger.com
The Rising Blogger is devoted to spotlighting the best work of
bloggers but it is unlike other "review" sites because the focus is on
outstanding individual articles. While other sites review a blog, The
Rising Blogger reviews a particular post and bestows a "Post of the
Day Award" which includes a badge to be displayed on the recipient's
site. The purpose is to unite bloggers and readers. Many people have
discovered and regularly read certain blogs as result of discovering
them via The Rising Blogger.
I invite all of you to be on the lookout for worthy posts and nominate
them to be featured as a Post of the Day. You can also submit a post
from one of your own sites!
Also, I am looking for contributors so if you are interested in
writing for The Rising Blogger, please drop me a line at
jhsesq@.... You do not need to commit to writing a
certain number of posts on specified days unless, of course, you want
to do that. You can be a casual contributor, publishing a post as you
feel inspired to do so and have time.
Finally, would you all be so kind as to send me an email listing each
of your Entrecard-participating sites so that I can 1) visit each site
and compile an accurate list of our members' sites; and 2) assure that
each member site is displaying the Entre Family 125 x 125 badge and/or
the little icon that fits right under the Entrecard widget. That's
also a hint: All members of this group are asked to display one or
both on their sites with a link back to our Yahoo page or the Entre
Family page at Colloquium (http://www.jhsiess.com/entrefamily) so if
you haven't added them, please do so now!
THANKS for being part of the Entre Family!
JHS
I drop on you pretty often (at least I think I do!).. this list has thus far (since I joined a few weeks ago) been very quiet.. I would like to see a list of sites participating too.

Hello fellow ec'ers... nice to see a group for us. :)
I'm Judi, been with ec since January. Got addicted (to ec).. got sick (crohns).. took a break from the computer and now I'm back.. but I've curbed my addiction, because ec won't do me any good if I don't put some focus into my blogs, right? lol
Anyway.. feel free to favorite me, or whatever, here's my profile ( http://entrecard.com/details/43954 ).. I do return drops and my card is above the fold.

I GOT it! The banner is now up on all three of my sites. I don't know WHY it works, but if you highlight and copy the actual banner from someone's site where it is working, and then go into your site, NOT in the html, but in the regular place you create the text and paste it, it will show up on the site and the html will be in the code. It is working on all three of my sites, all linking back to the group page just fine. It baffles me why that works when just putting the actual code in the html wouldn't allow it to show up? I wonder now, and I'll have to go back and look at the script, is the image source code (img src=___) in the code. If not, there is no picture, inotherwords the banner itself, that will show up? That's the only thing I can think of. If it is there, then I really am baffled!
I have never heard of Site Delux.
I will try to assist you tonight . . . have to work now. :-)

Are you on Blogger? If so, you may have to put the code into a widget.
I just added it under my Entrecard widget exactly as I reproduced it
on my site so I'm not sure what the problem might be.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks,
JHS
Magic and Moments is my only Blogger blog and the other 2 are done through Site Delux which I use through my webhost. It wouldn't show up on either? I'd really like to get it up there and will keep trying. :o)
Are you on Blogger? If so, you may have to put the code into a widget.
I just added it under my Entrecard widget exactly as I reproduced it
on my site so I'm not sure what the problem might be.
Can anyone assist?
Thanks,
JHS

I was SO excited to join the group I couldn't wait to put the little Entre Family banner under my ec widget (Mine is the 125x125 shaped widget, straight up and down. I saw codes for the widgets in the very first post on the page at the time, tried two different codes, and when I published, nothing showed up with either code?
I have 3 sites and I'm so excited to get the banner up on all 3. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help, and thanks for accepting my membership. I'm delighted to be here and will do anything I can to help!
I have just joined and the three sites listed below are my 3 sites at entrecard. I've been around awhile and have grown very fond of so many of you, through your blogs. I have never been a power dropper but have really taken time to look at people's sites and appreciate, more than I can say, the work and the care put in, and will look forward to getting to know you better and will enjoy dropping on your sites. Now I just have to figure out how to get the entrefamily logo on my blogs! I guess it's in the group site files somewhere?
Hi Lucy:
Welcome to the group!
And welcome to all of the other new members, as well. As Lucy did,
please introduce yourselves and provide us with the address(es) for
your site(s) where you display the Entrecard widget so that we can
begin dropping our cards immediately!
I am off in a few moments to our local 4th of July celebration (I'll b
e playing my flute with the Lodi Community Band), but will be around
later tonight and most of tomorrow. I will begin adding the list of
sites to the Entre Family page at Colloquium.
In the meantime, to display the small Entre Family badge in your
sidebar, here is the code:
<a href="http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/entrefamily/><img
src="http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm21/entrefamily/EntreFamily.png"
border="0" alt="Entrecard,Colloquium,www.jhsiess.com"></a>
There is also a 125 x 125 badge available which looks great alongside
the Entrecard widget. The code is:
<a href="http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/entrefamily/><img
src="http://s292.photobucket.com/albums/mm21/entrefamily/?action=view¤t=En\
\
treFamilyBadge.png"
border="0" alt="Entrecard,Colloquium,www.jhsiess.com"></a>
Tell your friends about our group and encourage them to join. As you
can see, it is easy to set up your email preferences and you will not
find your inbox bombarded with more unwanted emails than you are
probably already receiving. You can set your preferences to "no
email" and just log on to Yahoo to see if anyone has posted a message.
I encourage everyone, once they have introduced themselves, to limit
the number of messages sent, using email to let us know when you are
away for a period of time and unable to drop or other issues. And I
will try to limit the messages I send in my role as administrator of
the group.
If you are celebrating the 4th, have a great time!
Thanks!
