Hello all,
I have a web project going at http://eos.serveblog.net/geraet/index.htm
mainly dealing with (almost) everything EOS, original or compatible, even
including a rather huge selection of adaptable lenses. I just started to add
photos of everything. If I would attempt to do this explicitly on my own
this would last forever to complete. I'd like to invite you all to have a
closer look at this web project. If you find it useful and worth to support,
and own some EOS equipment, I will be happy about some photo subscriptions.
Comments and additions are also welcome.
Best Regards
Greg

Photo Gallery & TechSpecs for Canon EOS + Lenses
My eos600 worked fine the first time it was used. The pictures came out good and
I was pleased with the $40.00 investment which included a canon 35-105 lens and
other toys. My problem now that I have changed the battery, is that when
installing a new roll of film, the film does not advance to no.1. The shutter
works without the film and the info screen indicates that there is film
installed (when I re-install it) but it blinks and I cannot get it to advance or
work the shutter.
Any suggestions will be helpful, thanks in advance
Hankus
Hi Julian
I noticed on your jlcalc app that adding teleconvertors to extension
tubes does not affect the minimum and maximum focusing distance. In my
experience, the mfd DOES change when a TC is placed in front of
extension tubes. I can work around the problem by just typing in the
extended focal length into the focal length field, and leaving the
teleconvertor field blank, but I thought you might want to fix it.
Cheers,

Hi All,
I was looking for the details of the contacts in the battery compartment of
the canon 450D, that are close to the battery contacts. If any body has any sort
of information about those please direct me to the information.

Hi
Writing to say thanks for helping me to unlock the capabilities of my new (to
me) used 630. Was considering selling her as it just came across as a big ole
plastic P&S; now I know its a real camera with real capabilities. Learnt a lot
from it in these last couple of hours and realised the importance of having a
USM lens to match the camera's C-AF capabilities.
Can't wait to try her out in a busy street market!

Hi Julian
I'd rather not post my email address to the list, but I've just
worked through the bc error options for the EOS-3 I picked up from
eBay last month, with some success and thought I'd share what happened.
I bought a used EOS-3 from a pro photographer on eBay. Clearly it was
well used and had been on the shelf for months or even years. It
shined up nicely, new batteries and received the flashing bc error
fairly early on. Worked my way through the manual and tried resetting
to factory defaults, including clearing custom functions. Seemed ok,
loaded a bulk-rolled roll of film and used that to get used to the
transport, the wind and rewind, the shutter button. Second go,
flashing bc again. Crikey, couldn't have left the camera on long
enough to run down the battery, nonetheless, changed to a fresh
battery. Successfully shot off a roll and 3 frames then - flashing bc
again. Knew enough now to see that the battery was still effectively
giving a full charge. Now starting to get concerned, I turned to
eosdoc.com to do a thorough snag check. Sending the body for a
service would cost much more than I paid for it.
All contacts cleaned, cardboard spacer above battery, shutter
curtains clear, no mucky stuff anywhere. I double checked the
viewfinder glass that drops down - was that jammed? no. Then, having
exhausted everything else, I decided to watch the mirror action when
firing the shutter. No movement. I lifted the mirror gently with the
edge of my finger to see if there was any resistance when it flips up
(from a drop maybe). On the underside of the shutter is a velvety
edge which *may* have started to become sticky and was *perhaps*
adhering either to the bumpers on either side of the front chamber or
to the small flap that folds down. Perhaps the camera had been stored
in warm conditions? Anyhow, once I had freed it, shutter works
perfectly. No more flashing bc (for now).
I'll keep ensuring it is freed up between rolls and be sure to use
the camera plenty to remind it what it was built for.
Thought I'd drop you this note as there may be more people giving
older EOS cameras a second-life and confronting the BC Error!
Mal

I use Sandisk 4GB Extreme III in my 40D. The newest ones are 200x
Even if a camera cannot use the faster cards, it is still useful when
downloading with a card reader, but you might need a firewire connection for
maximum speed.

It wouldn't be to me. If I am downloading a complete shooting (4 to 16 GB
of shots), I take a coffee
break when I begin the download, or find something else to do. It is
faster, but it's not at time when
speed of really important to me (like when the camera is busy due to
downloading to the memory card).

Dear ALL,
May I ask you a question?
I would like to buy CF card for Canon EOS 40D but I have no idea about the
speed (133x, 256x, ...).
I want to know the data transfer rate from the camera to the CF card.
Imagine . If I buy CF card with 256x but Canon 40D actually transfers the
data at 133x, it would be a waste to buy that expensive card.
Could you please reply my question to ST104456@...
Thank you for your kind support in advance.

Tim,
They should, as the EX standard was developed for the EOS series.
I used a 420 EX with my Elan 7e, which was an E-TTL camera. Now I use a 580
EX with my DSLR and I believe the manual for both flashes states they are
A-TTL compatible.

I have the same exact problem, Canon T/S does not seem too concerned

Camera works great but the software sucks.
