DVI stands for Digital Visual Interface (go to Webopedia.com and enter DVI for an explanation)

Newer Computers Use DVI Connectors instead of VGA connectors.  You don't have to buy new projectors.  You can buy an adapter or a cord with DVI one end and VGA on the othere.

DVI does have some advantages which are explained on the Webopedia.com site

What is a DVI connector for a projector ? Is a DVI port on a laptop fairly common, or is it time to upgrade conference room projectors for them yet?...
