At EPCC, we do not mind passing along requests for help from other
non-profits, and although this is a long way to go to volunteer, you may
know of a person local to them who can help. And note that there are
other local opportunities here in Chester County to assist people.

If you check out our Calendar at Yahoo Groups, you will see that the West
Chester Senior Center (and I believe the Downingtown Senior Center) have
opportunities for providing assistance and advice with Computers on
various times during the week.

And of course, our local Chester Count Library here has similar programs
beyond the full-time MicroComputer Center on the second floor.

Do you know that EPCC has staffed specialized classes for Digital Imaging
as part of the LIbrary's classes? These have been very popular in the
past.

Or you can volunteer to help with a session right here at EPCC at
Digital Imaging or give a 5 minute "Lightning Talk" at the main
meeting . . . All kinds of topics are welcome.

Sometimes assisting can be as simple as providing a ride to other
members, like our visually impaired member Carol Sexton
mailto:sunshinepa@... or other members who do not like to
drive after dark.

So please, do not be shy about asking for help, or asking what you can do
to help.

The Mt. Airy Community Computer Center is currently looking for
volunteers to help bridge the digital divide in our community. Each
month the center offers a free computer training session as well as
one-on-one training to the community. Volunteers teach skills to
community residents, such as how to research on the Internet or how to
use MS Office applications.

Folks who are interested in helping out should contact Angel LaBell
for more information.
