The AATBS books are very complete and detailed; but you basically have to memorize them. The AATBS practice tests are more like the real test. Test questions are taken word for word from the study materials. Also, AATBS has a method of scoring and eliminating the answers for the vignettes which is great. I liked these materials better. I did like using the tapes from Psychprep to listen to while driving to work, just to keep things fresh in my mind. This time I plan on taking the AATBS workshop right before the test. Upon taking the AATBS practice tests the first time I scored 75-80% and 95% on the second taking, yet I scored 70% on the actual test.

thank you for your feedback. It sounds like the board is making it
harder to pass the CPSE. Which prep material do you like better?
Psychprep or AATBS?

Memorize everything: DSM-IV, Interventions, Law and Ethics. The test
is very tricky. No time to go back and check answers, you have to move
right along to finish it. Vingettes are difficult. Know diagnosis word
for word.
