I have seen this situation with 870s and 1270s, the model preceeding your
1280. I had hoped that it had been taken care of with the new model.
Evidently not.
Have no idea of what is happening but it seems to be a failure of the print
head for some reason. I had a similar problem with 2 870s. Call Epson tech.
They'll run you through a couple of tests and checks and then send you
another printer, usually next day and will make arrangements to have the
old one picked up. Seemed like I had to give them a credit card as a
guarentee in case you don't send the old one back.
I also talked them into replacing the ink cartridges that I wasted trying
to get it to work. I think your 1280 is dead. RIP.
