Hey there everyone, it's your publicity chair:
For those of you who went to SWE National Conference 2005, I have
a favor to ask. Can you bring me pictures of your experiences in
CA? I know I have bunches, but I have my own personal scrapbook to
fill, plus some of you did different tours and things than I. If
there is any way that you could bring extra copies of your pictures to
NEXT THURSDAY'S MEETING (because it's our last one for the
semester!!!), I would really appreciate it.
If you gals can do this for me, I will come back from Christmas
break with a wonderful addition to the SWE Scrapbook, which I will
share on our meetings in the spring semester.
THANK YOU VERY, VERY MUCH FOR YOUR APPRECIATION!!!!!!!!!
Rowena Aburto
Publicity Chair

Hi from Califonia!
I'm just writing to tell everyone that we got here safely and are all
doing fine. This is also a reminder that we do not have a meeting this
Thursday - November 3 - due to all the officers being at National's.
We will resume meetings at our normal time next Thursday. I hope to
see you all then.
Have a great week!
Molly Barath
This message is not about nationals, although I will not be attending either. I
am moving to California for a job, but next week. The company is General
Atomics Aeronautical Systems located in Adelanto. That's about 50 miles or so
NE of LA. The position is stress engineer/design engineer. In case anyone was
wondering why I haven't been involved, I have had alot going on obviously. I
will not be able to come to the meeting this Thursday due to a prior engagement.
You all will be missed. I hope that in the future I will be able to go to
Nationals and see some you.
Thanks girls,
Katie
The November meeting will be at Banker's Bar and Grill in Cocoa Village on
Tuesday, Nov 15. The speaker will talk on "Stress Relief
Techniques". Full information is available on the web at www.swe-sc.org

Hello everyone,
I regret to say that I wont be able to make it to Nationals to see
everyone. I was ready to treat everyone to dinner since I got my first
pay check last week! I am currently in a two week training class in LA
and if i miss one day then i have to start the whole program over
again. :(
I hope you all have fun and GOOD LUCK!
Sincerely,
M.C. Houtas :)
p.s. let me know if we recieve any awards, especially for OSS!
Hey Girls,
I was just wondering if any one who currently has a SWE polo would be
willing to let one of the girls going to nationals borrow it so we
could all travel in style. Write me back or call and let me know if
you're willing. I'm hoping to collect them on Monday, but can stretch
until noon on tuesday.
Thanks for all the help,
Molly
Hello Everyone!
I want to thank those people who have helped us with our Homecoming
Mulan Dragon!!! A big thank you goes to Rowena, who has worked so hard
on the Dragon's body.
Tomorrow (October 28, 2005), we are meeting at 11am between Propellers
and the library building, near the COA entrance. We will finish up the
Dragon before the parade begins at 3:15pm.
More thank you's to Jody, Eliza, and Lara who helped deliver the canned
food drive flyers this past Saturday. We are collecting the donated
items on Halloween. Dress up in costume and meet us in front of the
library at 5pm. This should take no longer than 2 hours (hopefully 1.5).
There will be NO meeting on Thursday, November 3, 2005. All of the
officers and several members will be in Anaheim, CA for the SWE
National Conference. Ladies, remember to bring those resumes!
See you for our next meeting on Thursday, October 10, 2005.
Sincerely,
Megan Moundalexis
SWE Secretary
hey, again for all you out there who can't make it to the paper mache thing but still want to help out somehow, don't forget that the body also needs help too! This is Rowena, and I will start working on the body in either the Student Center or in the Village tonight around 9pm. If you would like to help me with this (it's going to be REALLY EASY, it's just a long body, and i can't do it all alone), then CALL ME @ 937-441-6621. Leave a message if i don't pick up. I'll tell you where and when I'll be ready.
Thank you everyone, Rowena Aburto

it's Rowena and I'm working on the body of the Dragon. For those of you who weren't there at the meeting on Thursday, we decided to split up the pieces, and I took up the body. I am pretty sure I can get the suplies on Saturday, but I won't start working on it until Monday. If any of you would like to help, let me know. I will be working on this on campus (more than likely in the fountain room in the village or somewhere around there). If any of you would like to help, that's great, send me an email saxyten@... or call me
937-441-6621. If you get my voicemail, leave a message. I WILL CALL YOU BACK!!!
Anyway, there's that. Thanks for those who want to help.

Companies Represented at the Meeting: The Harris Company, USA,
Northrup Grumman, Brunswick, Boeing
SpaceCoast SWE: Mark January 21 on your calendar to help with the
Introducing Girls to Engineering Workshop, which we help with every
year. Also, January 20-26 is Engineers Week, and I hear Northrop
Grumman & SpaceCoast have some fun stuff in store!
Regional SWE: Florida Institute of Technology wants to meet with us to
discuss how to have more fun and get more involved in SWE. (They are
not as big as we are) They would like to set up a date at Regionals.
We will discuss this more at a later date & time.
National SWE: If you attend National Conference, Kam Kersey would like
to set up a "Space Coast Dinner" on Friday, November 4th, instead of
attending the scholarship/award ceremony. This is NOT the award
ceremony for internal SWE awards, so don't be confused, that's
Saturday night. More details to come!
Career: Northrup Grumman announces that it will be hiring 90 engineers
for the Kennedy Space Center area within the next year. Tell anyone
you know who has graduated and needs a job!
