Why not buy a Bluetooth adapter? It's about the same price as the
cable, no?

I have a few questions. I'm thinking of buying the T610 and then a cable for
syncing with Entourage. The DCU-11 cable says it's only compatible with
Windows. Will it work on my Mac and Mobile sync? Is there another cable to
buy?
I'm running Panther and Entourage X.
Hello!
We're moving off Yahoo-groups in a few days. Instead, there'll be a
forum with RSS capabilities. At about the same time, we'll move hosting
off .Mac to another host. Murphy willing, things will go smoothly.
Here's the process:
1a. The Yahoo-group will be locked down
1b. I will post an IP to the new forums. Old messages on the
Yahoo-group has been imported, so you can still search for old
conversations.
2. The salling.com domain will be pointed to the new server. At this
point, you will be able to reach the new forums from the main site.
In summary, you do NOT have to do anything about this now, but stay
tuned for another email. If you're interested in registering at the new
forum for testing purposes, let me know.
Best,
Jonas
Mika,
If you read the installation instructions for MobileSync, it will be
clear for you how this is done.
Best.

As instructed in MobileSync webpage, I went out to Microsoft website and got
Enourage Handheld Sync... installer. However, it did not succeed, because I got
a

Do I have to install some Palm software as well before I can sync my Ericsson

Wow! Hey thanks you guys for all the great advice. But just out of
curiosity, since I'm using
OSX 10.3.4, the latest Salling Ericsson Clicker, and a T610,
shouldn't it be working with
bypassing the screensaver in the first place?
I don't understand why it's not working on its own.

So I'm new at this. I'm an experienced perl coder, a C hack and a new
Salling Clicker user. I love it.
But I want to create my own scripts. According to the user's manual, I
can find out more by opening "SEC Helper’s dictionary in Script Editor,
to find out what functionality it provides."
Where do I find the SEC Helper's dictionary? Thanks!

Um, regarding my last e-mail. Never mind, I'm an idiot. Next time I'll

Wow!
I really appreciate you doing things I didn't dare from lack of experience:
system cache?
It is all so obvious, with products like SC you need some way to boost the BT
signal, or use
an appropriate protocol to transfer signal, otherwise it is a gadget that is
amazing for
about three days... just to see what can be done, but in practice..., is it
helpfull..., does it
solve a problem...?
No, for me it's no fun standing next to the computer controlling iTunes. I want
to do that
from the garden or bedroom. (let alone giving a presentation where you have to
be aware
not to wander off too much) I'm considering the ATI remote wonder now. It's not
as 'sleek'
but could give a lot more satisfaction in terms of practicallity.
By the way, I noticed that without the Airport switched on, the range is about 7
mtrs!
Almost 100% extra (no interference I guess)
But the fun strarts with Airtunes... So what can one do?
I do hope you come across something to contribute to a basic need for all SC
users using
or wanting to use Airtunes.
Mine just arrived!
Beautifull packaging, beautifull product!
NICE!

Well, I've gone back and tried to reproduce the effect, but I can't get
it to work now. Very strange. It doesn't work with the Belkin 100 meter
or with the D-Link 10 meter I originally experienced it with. I also
tried moving the Apple driver out of the Library as Jonas had suggested
and rebooted. This didn't have any effect until I cleared the system
cache first and then rebooted (I used the freeware program Onyx to
clear the system cache). While this then did disable the built-in
bluetooth module, the USB module didn't work either - I plugged it in
but no bluetooth services were established. Then I put the Apple driver
back and rebooted, only to find that the built-in was still disabled,
so I once again had to clear the system cache and reboot to get the
built-in working again. The last thing I tried is deleting the pairing
and reestablishing it with the module plugged in, but that didn't work
either.
There must be some way to get this working, perhaps still some issue
with caching, because it definitely did "work" when I first stumbled
across it, but so far no luck in getting it to work again. I'll play
around some more when I again find some time. Hopefully Apple will be
smart and update bluetooth to support plugging a USB module in to
override the built-in in some future system update.
Also, FYI, the Belkin module does NOT have the Broadcom chipset as the
broadcom driver didn't show up with the kextstat | grep HCI command.
With the old D-Link it did load the broadcom driver.

I've been using Salling Clicker for quite some time now with my ibook
and t610 and I'm very pleaced with the functionality. But there is
one feature I wish for and that is that i can accept incoming calls
with a click (like now) but then just start talking using my ibook as
a large bluetooth handsfree. Is this possible ? Is there anyting out
there ? Can it be added to Salling Clicker ?

Address Book doesn't have to deal with the C++ APIs on the phone.
- jonas
Nice work Brandon (and Brian Laughlin),
So it seems we can get Address Book to display the caller ID info, so perhaps
it's not a
restriction of Symbian like the Salling Clicker manual hints at.
Since we can see all of the information, (I just verified this with my PowerBook
and my
P900) is there a way to implement this into Salling Clicker?
What a great product... I just registered my copy today.

I did boot up with the adapter in place, but still.... 4 mtrs, no response on
adapter.
I really think there should be some way to extend the bluetooth range with
built-in BT if
one wanted to, without endangering the whole system.
Why not develop a 'D-link' 100 m range with built-in override, or a choice in
bluetooth
'agents' in the system software?
Apple, if you're listening....
Tiger you say?
Anyways, if someone still has a good suggestion, I would welcome it very much.
I guess I'll just return the Belkin tomorrow. :-(
PS
My AXpress has just been shipped.
Looking forward anyways.

Also if the script should active when the screen saver is not running, your
password could get displayed in other open application.

A small reminder though : this, of course, breaks a bit the security on

What happened to me is that I had my old USB bluetooth adapter plugged
into my keyboard for use with my old PowerBook (TiBook). When using
that adapter I was not able to use Salling Clicker with encyrption
enabled. I had to turn off encryption in SC and then it would work.
When I got the new PowerBook I set encryption on, but forgot that I
still had the old adapter plugged into my keyboard and I was thus
surprised to find that I still couldn't use Salling Clicker with
encryption enabled. After scratching my head on that for a while I
finally noticed the adapter plugged into the keyboard. Doh! I unplugged
it, and then SC worked with encryption enabled. The implication was
that the USB bluetooth adapter overrode the built-in. It certainly had
in that case, but I didn't do any further experimentation to see if
there were any caveats. One idea that comes to mind is that it might
only work like this if the machine is booted with the USB adapter
connected? You could try that anyway.
Steve
For what it's worth, it's working for me on my G5 with built-in
Bluetooth. Sounds like this should be reported to Apple, since their
software is what's supposed to wake up the Mac when the firmware
reports an incoming connection.
Cheers.

I can't wake up my 17" iMac from sleep with Clicker 2.2 and Nokia 6600. Is this
working
for other people?
I'm running OS X 10.3.4 with newest Bluetooth (1.5), and I have updated the
firmware of
my D-Link DBT-120 (rev. B2) Bluetooth Adapter to version 1.1. Allow Bluetooth
devices to

I don't have any other BT devies I could test it with.

Just thought I might add a bit of trivia here...
The stuff described below was added to the dictionary to so that the
Slimserver/Squeezebox script could be built, but also with the
intention of making a useful tool for others writing scripts to control
things that have an HTTP API. If you know of equipment with an HTTP API
that you think we should support, let me know.
In addition, and I think this is pretty cool, we've added Rendezvous
support to our AppleScript dictionary. It's a property of the
application object. This way, it's possible to make scripts that don't
require any user configuration. There's no UI to add rendezvous-types
that a script should ask Clicker to listen for, so let me know if you
need your script to listen for types not already there.
All this is cool new stuff in Clicker 2.2. :-)
Best,
Jonas

Yes. This should be possible, assuming the authentication system is
supported by WebKit. In fact, I added this capability to Clicker 2.2.
If you open Clicker's dictionary, you will find this command:
do http get Unicode text -- the url
[password Unicode text] -- the password to use if challenged with
authentication
[user name Unicode text] -- the user name to use if challenged with
authentication
[timeout integer] -- the timeout for this request (until
completion; default value is 10 seconds)
[include headers boolean] -- turns the return value into a record
of headers and content
So, you'd write something like this:
do http get "http://your_URL_here...." user name "your_username_here"
password "your_pass_here"
Or, using the URL-form instead:
do http get "http://username:password@your_URL_here...."
This will work if your website is protected in such a way that you'd
normally get a Safari authentication dialog. In the authentication
relies on a custom web form, you may be out of luck, unless the form
handler is a GET-handler (not a POST-handler).
Cookies are stored "per session" with the "do http get" command
described here.
Best.

It works great, thanks a lot!
Hint 1: you can use it to modify the default script.
Hint 2: you can use the default script to add a confirmation before
starting the screen saver.
Thanks again.
