Description

This list is an intersection point. It is dedicated to the emerging subject of enterprise IT automation, otherwise called Enterprise Resource Planning for IT.

This is not the automation of business process by IT; rather it is IT automating itself. It is intended to be of interest to:
- Enterprise architecture
- Metadata management
- Business process modeling and management
- Application portfolio management
- Application, data, and technical architecture
- IT Service Management
- Students of Management Information Systems (MIS)

The goal of the list is NOT to cover in exhaustive detail each of these areas (most have their own fora), but rather to highlight the convergences and discuss in depth their intersecting concerns.

The purpose is to assist enterprise IT organizations in better aligning the internal processes and tooling increasingly being procured and developed to more rationally manage the IT capability.

Enterprise IT is a formidable topic and too often it's the the blind men and the elephant.

This list is intended to look the elephant in the eye.
