Hi Mike,
Could you please generate the Esker
ActiveX Plug-in traces (see the on-line FAQ)?
Thanks,
Nicolas Roumiantzeff

Plug-in] Netscape 8.01 security problem
Nicholas,
Sorry for the delay in getting back with
you.
I have confirmed this works with Firefox
on my PC.
The “transit” sub-folder has
been created and contains tictacto.ocx file.
It looks like Firefox does not use this
directory for installation of the .ocx files.
Thanks,
Mike

Plug-in] Netscape 8.01 security problem
Hi,
This does not seem to be an Esker ActiveX Plug-in version compatibility
issue. I guess that Netscape has added some sort of security check which
prevents the installation of the ActiveX in the specific folder:
C:\DOCUME~1\MICHAE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\transit
Since the same mechanism is used to install the plug-in and the ActiveX,
and that only the installation folder is different, it tends to prove
that there is a specific issue with that folder.
Note that the file extension of the plug-in is ".dll" while the one
of
the ActiveX is ".ocx". You could try renaming the tictacto.ocx file
to
tictacto.dll on your HTTP server and replacing it accordingly in the
tictacto.htm.
Do you confirm that this works with Firefox on the same PC logged as the
same user (Michael)?
If not, then you should check the Widows write access to the folder:
C:\DOCUME~1\MICHAE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\transit
Has the "transit" sub-folder been created under the following folder?
C:\DOCUME~1\MICHAE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp
I hope this helps,
Nicolas Roumiantzeff

I am trying to run the TicTacToe example from version
Netscape 8.01 on XP SP2. The Esker Plug-in installs fine but the
ActiveX control does not. The following text is in the status bar:
ActiveX loading... Please wait... The JavaScript Console windows
has the following error in it:
Security Error: Content at http://mrf/ndor/demo/tictacto.htm
may not
load or link to file:///C:%5CDOCUME~1%5CMICHAE~1%5CLOCALS~1%5CTemp%
5Ctransit/TicTacTo.ocx.
I was thinking version 7.91 fixed this problem. I do not have a
problem in Firefox or Netscape 7.2.
Below is the trace file.
Any ideas what I have wrong?
Thanks,
Mike
