I just purchased unlocked Palm Centro smartphones for my lab, and so far, they seem to work well.  The screens are relatively small, so you are unlikely to fit very long (e.g., 9-point) scales on them, but otherwise my initial test (which admittedly, involves only two questions just to see if ESP would work properly) has been successful.  My biggest concern is that the smartphones are more likely to "disappear" than standard Palm Pilots.

Hi, I called Palm with the same concern, and here is what they told me: they are still making some models that don't have the smart phone, but they're making...
