While at ICLP I saw a paper that might be of some interest / use to
the explanation community:

Policy-Driven Negotiations and Explanations: Exploiting
Logic-Programming for Trust Management, Privacy & Security

Piero A. Bonatti, Juri L. De Coi, Daniel Olmedilla and Luigi Sauro

It contains links to a system called Protune:

Which they claimed handled explanations in a reasonably sophisticated
