patch...instead of bt865 now player stop working is there anyway that i

I have bought Voxline DVD933 Divx player
it does plays mpeg1, mpeg2 and mpeg4 video formats
(.avi, .mpg, .mp3, .wma .dat etc)
But it does not play .3gp and windows media video (.wmv)
I updated my divx player with bank30.rom file
What is bank30.rom?
How can I add windows media codec and some codecs to my divx player?
I want to play .wmv and .3gp videos on my Voxline DVD933 Divx player.
What is Ezpatch?
is it a rom hacking program for dvd and divx players?

So, what's the final word on the Philips DVP-642 DVD player? Does the
current production run (for the US, at least) include MacroVision
copy-defeat and Regional Coding? Does the machine no longer perform
trans-coding (i.e, will it no longer play a PAL DVD and output an NTSC
video stream from it)? And are these changes non-defeatable? Is there
no work-around or patch?

I've been using a GE 1101 with good results, but it doesn't transcode;
and besides, it's bound to wear out or break down eventually. As I
read the thread on the DVP-642, I started to think that I'd found my
replacement for my GE...until I reached the last post in the thread,
and read the suggestion that recent samples of the Philips probably
all have non-defeatable MV. If that's true, then the machine is
useless to me.

I've been hoping that someone would respond to that last post, to
either verify or negate the supposition, or perhaps just to elaborate
on it. Guys?

I have DVD Player Based on CHEERTEC Chips CT908A,
For upgrade firmware I use 3 files:
     - CHECKSUM.BIN
     - DVD908.BIN

My DVD Player no responsing, I Will inject it Firmware by Serial
Interface..!

There was a SERIAL PORT On DVD Player MotherBoard...

BTW, once you upgrade DVP642 to the latest firmware (1109) it's no
longer MV free, so it may not be MV free out of the box, and Philips
seems to not allow downgrades on players manufactured on or after
Oct 04.

Regarding VCRs with Macrovision copy protection -

I do have a 5-year old VCR with Macrovision protection. I have seen
commercial DVD movies loaded in an un-patched DVD player connected to
the VCR's input RCA cables where the color fades in and out
constantly, or there's consistent display distortion going in and out.
  After I have patched the DVD player's firmware to be
Macrovision-Free, this VCR connection/display problem goes away.

I did have an older VCR manufactured in 1985 that do not have the
Macrovision protection (but this VCR is now broken).

Just my 2 cents...

I recently replaced my Apex AD703 with a Mintek 3610.  My apex would
not read DVDR's.  The Mintek will read MOST DVDR's I've fed into it,
but sometimes near the end of the disc, the movie/disc will skip.
If I play the same disc on my Terapin TT2600 it plays fine :(  ???
Is it possible the Mintek 3610 might require some kind of laser
adjustment to increase its reading power or something????

Any help/advice would be great.

I love my GE 1101P. It has always been reliable and served me well. I
just bought the Philips 642 recently as a backup. This is an amazing
new DVD player. It not only plays dvd, svcd, vcd, mp3 but also divx
and xvid. No more fiddling about trying to convert an avi to an mpg.
All formats play flawlessly so far. It is officially divx certified.
Got it at Wal-Mart for $70. It is firmware flashable just like the
1101 and 5803. It is macro vision free for vcr's but sadly not for
dvd output. There is a hack to make it region free if you need that
too. So far there is no customized firmware but I'm hoping some of
the computer wizards from this group might get interested in hacking
this deck. I can see this deck as the hacker's choice for their new
favorite.

I have a Technika DVD-1010 which is basically a Dansai DVD-1010
clone. I upgraded the firmware to the version of Dansai Bank 3.0
which I found on internet. It al works great. One little drawback is
that it doesn't support dutch in the settings for
subtitles/audio/etc. Does somebody know that there is a version with
dutch language support. Thanks in advance

I'm using Ritek's G04 (Ridata branded) media right now... I've also
got (currently in my possession) Lead Data and Optodisc's.  All are -
R media, tried them all and the Apex 703 doesn't seem to like ANY of
them :(  I don't think the 812S burns at 1x, only 2x, 4x, 6x and
8x... it will not write at 1x, at least I've never seen the option
for 1x write.  I've burned with Nero 6 and I've tried Alcohol 120%,
Prassi PrimoDVD and Stomps Record now Max 4.5. No difference :(

My LiteOn is running firmware US0Q (the latest from Liteon's site).
I don't know how much more I can try.  The same disc that the Apex
703 will not read (stops loading or skips while playing), will play
in one of my $29 single disc dvd players in the bed room! :p  THATS
FRUSTRATING!  but at least I know the disc are ok.

I guess I'll try to keep my eye open for one of those KLH changers.

Even Ritek's quality has been spotty lately.  I have some Ritek +R
G03 right now that has (some) issues on my LiteOn 811S that burns
perfectly fine (and works on the ol' 703!) done in the NEC drive.  Go
figure.

I've read the 812 is a totally different animal than the 811,
so...don't fret just yet.  Just get the proper firmware for it ;)

Yeah if there is, nobody has ever stepped forward with it, and I
think the question is, is there a firmware update for the carousel?
Also I burn at 4x (and no faster than 4x regardless of media) on my
NEC with no problems.

I picked up a KLH at Best Buy for about $55 on clearance, it's the
same unit at Target which is branded Kawasaki (if you can believe it)
either way, it's a 5-Disc DVD/CD/MP3/VCD/SVCD player, and it's not
made by KLH or Kawasaki it's made by Arco electronics (I think) and
there is a region (NOT MV just region) hack for it.  Probably the
closest you'll come to the 703, I guess.

I have found that the choice of media is as-important, if not
more-important than the burner
Reitek G03 and G04 dye seems to produce reliably the best results.

Fully hackABLE?  If the 703 (for I shall not presume again) is an ESS 4xxx
based machine - I would suggest that all of the standard OFFA hacks are

to working.  Nice try, though :)

problem) the solution I've found is two-fold.  You need good media
and a good burner.  I just retired a LiteOn 811S in favor of an NEC
2500A.  I had some success with the 811's burns on the 703, however I
have had no problems at all with the burns from my NEC drive.

Other than that, your only other solution is to retire the ol' 703,
lets face it, there's been 0 progress on this player for *years*,
whereas the 600A (and others, for example) have thrived with the OFFA
project.  It's really unfortunate, as far as I know there are no
fully hackable multi-disc DVD players out there.

My Apex AD-703 seems to be extremely picky about the DVD-R media it
accepts... I've tried Lead-data, Ridata (Ritek) and a few others,
most (99%) do not play :(

Is there ANY firmware, adjustment or replacement I can make to this
unit?  or am I better off replacing it with a newer changer?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are a programmer you need to look in the mipsx_src group and play
with "6src"

afaik, there have been no 6xxx hacks released ...probably due to the
soldered flash chip.

people in Central Europe need small update in firmware. Vendor has
support for this player but he dont want make new firmware now.
This player is ESS based. I have photos on
