Hello to all,
I'm joining this group confident that some of you guys out there with more
experience out there can help me out. I am running firebird on a computer
with windows XP (superserver) and I connect to it perfectly fine with via
odbc locally. Now, I am trying to connect to the same database over a
network. I have another computer with XP installed on it and I installed
the odbc on this computer as well but I cannot connect to the Database. I
have tried servername:dbalias; servername:fullpath; ipaddress:alias and
ipaddress:fullpath but have had no success. I am definetely not doing
things right. The only examples I have found on the internet is trying to
connect with a full connections string, specifying driver, server, database,
password, etc. Is this the only way to connect? I have not tried this
yet. Any guidance would be great help.
The version of firebird is 2.1.3 running as a service.
Thanks in advance.
