Joseph Jenkins, Author of "The Humanure Handbook"
speaking at Prescott College.
March 12th (wednesday) at 7:30pm in downstairs
crossroads.
THE LAST GREAT UNTAPPED RESOURCE? - HUMANURE
2008 is the International Year of Sanitation, so
let's talk. Humanure (the odorous excretions of
human beings) can be recycled using natural
processes without creating environmental
pollution. And it can be done in your own
backyard (just don't tell your neighbors). Joseph
Jenkins will cover this topic at least a couple
inches deep. Jenkins, a businessman, organic
gardener and author of three books, is perhaps
best known for the award-winning Humanure
Handbook A Guide to Composting Human Manure,
which has been sold in at least 60 countries and
published on four continents. Jenkins has been a
compost practitioner since 1975 and has grown his
family's food with humanure compost amended soil
for the past 29 years. If you want the real poop
on a subject most people don't even want to think
about, now's your
chance.
