1st Annual Arizona Permaculture Convergence!!!!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #78 of 359 |
Greetings Fellow Permies....

Permaculture seems to be spreading even in our home state of
Arizona. Talk of an Arizona wide permaculture convergence has been
in the works for awhile now, but it looks like it is coming into
fruition this fall with the 1st Annual Arizona Permaculture
Convergence taking place at Prescott College. The information that
was given to me is attached. I will be passing on more information
as it comes in hopes that many Flagstaff Permies will attend to
represent our region and learn from others.

Take Care,
Josh Robinson

1st Annual Arizona Permaculture Convergence

My name is Lyric Harris and I am an ecological design student
studying
Permaculture in Prescott, Arizona. I am in my last year of school
at
Prescott College and for the past 2 and half years I have been
working
closely with my mentor, Andrew Millison designing and applying
Permaculture
design methods in our local community "Eco-Hood". Andrew's guidance
has led
me to many evolved Permaculture sites all over Arizona and New
Mexico
and
has sparked my passion as a "budding permaculturist". The potential
behind
these beautiful displays led me to realize the importance of
articulating
and exposing this information through organizing Arizona's 1st
annual
Permaculture Convergence.
Though these works are still in progress I am inviting you to come
spend a
beautiful weekend in Prescott, Arizona on November 10th, 11th, and
12th
to
share and network your ideas and methods with other local
Permaculturists.
This will be a three-day conference held at the Prescott College
Crossroads
Center. Each day a few different speakers from the region will give
an
hour-long presentation exposing their design methods and
contributions
to
the local community. This merging of ideas will give everyone a
chance
to
get to know like minded people from all over our region and allow
the
opportunity for others to learn about alternative methods of living.
This
event will be heavily advertised, so these ideas will permeate into
the
hearts and minds of our local support.
There will be additional time for questions following each
presentation, so
our guests can relate and connect to these greater concepts. Local
organic
breakfast and lunch will be provided during the conference and
travel
and
hotel/housing accommodations will be covered by our budget. We would
be
honored to have you featured at Arizona's very first Permaculture
Convergence, so please reply and let us know if you can attend, so
we
can
begin to create a schedule for this lattice of collective
networking.
We
don't know everyone in the region, so if you can suggest any
potential
speakers and RSVP their contact information to this E-mail address
we
would
be happy to have them present at the Convergence. Just make sure
that
you
include their location and accomplishments. I am taking on this
responsibility as my final Senior project at Prescott College and I
am
committed to making this gathering unique and worthy of our time and
energy.
As this process develops you will be receiving more information
about
specific logistics and access to a separate website and domain name
will in
turn create an official structure that can be carried on in the
future.
For
right now please feel free to call or E-mail me if you have any
questions:
Lyric (928) 710-6744, e-mail: lyricharmony13@... Please RSVP
via
e-mail or by phone as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Lyric Harmony Harris
