Our CalcAnt is a desktop calculator for the four basic arithmetic operations.
Calculating with calcAnt is pretty easy: Enter numbers and operators using the
numeric keypad as you would do with any pocket calculator.
calcAnt will format your input line by line and will calculate the result after
you have pressed [Enter] or [=].
On the basis of the created list you can verify the results and, if necessary,
revise your input by positioning the cursor on the incorrect number or operator
and changing it. calcAnt will immediately do a new calculation.
You may also add text and comments to your calculations, as in this example:
The whole calculation can be saved just like any text file and be opened again
later (e.g. to drag and drop a file into the text area). Or print out your
calculation and file it on paper.
There are a lot of options to adjust calcAnt to your personal needs:
- You may choose the number of decimal places.
- Results can be displayed without having been rounded.
- Check "Always on top" for permanent direct access to your calcAnt.
- The numeric keypad can be hidden, thus providing more space for your
calculations.
calcAnt is freeware. Please feel free to use it as long as you like (and yes,
you may pass copies to your friends and colleagues).

This is an excellent ASCII text editor/NotePad replacement with many extra
features.
For a start, it supports unlimited filesize (hooray!) and MDI (multiple document
interface – the ability to open more than one document at a time). Those two
features alone put it very high on the list of recommended NotePad replacements.
But there's more! JankPad is also quite a nifty HTML source code editor with a
good selection of built-in tags – it even automatically adds size tags to images
which is something many 'specialist' HTML editors don't do.
JankPad doesn't just lay claim to being a TXT and HTML editor because it also
handles file formats for C and CPP files, JAVA files, CSS, VBS, DAT, etc. Phew!
With built-in Java Wizards it really does try to be all things to all people.
We were disappointed that you couldn't easily create, say, a Java file if the
default "Open new document" option was set to TXT. It was sometimes also hard to
get extension-specific menu commands to appear on the menu bar (why can't they
just all be permanently displayed?) but overall we were most impressed.
The Helpfile is detailed and extensive, a pleasant change from many we have seen
lately.
This program requires the VB5 runtime files.
If you want your TXT editor to do more than just create simple text files you
could be very excited about JankPad (what a name!).

R-Linux is a free file recovery utility for the Ext2FS file system used in the
Linux OS and several Unixes. R-Linux uses InteligentScan technology and flexible
parameter settings that give you real control over the fastest data recovery
ever seen. It recovers files from existing logical disks even when file records
are lost. However, there is no any network capabilities or ability to
reconstruct damaged RAIDs or stripe sets in R-Linux.
R-Linux features:
- Standard "Windows Explorer" - style interface.
- Host OS: Win9x, ME, NT, 2000, XP, 2003.
- Supported file systems: Ext2FS (Linux) only.
- Recognition and parsing Dynamic (Windows 2000/XP), Basic and BSD (UNIX)
partitions layout schema.
- Creates IMAGE FILES for an entire DISK, PARTITION or its part. Such image
files can be processed like regular disks.
- Recognizes localized names.
- Recovered files can be saved on any (including network) disks accessible by
the host operating system.
R-Linux recover files:
- Removed by virus attack, power failure or system crash;
- After the partition with the files was reformatted, even for different file
system;
- When the partition structure on a disk was changed or damaged. In this case,
R-Linux can scan the disk trying to find previously existed partitions and
restore files from found partitions.
- From disks with bad sectors. In this case, R-Linux can first copy the entire
disk or its part into an image file and then process such image file. This is
especially useful when new bad sectors are constantly appearing on the disk, and
remaining information must be immediately saved.
System Requirement
- An Intel-compatible platform running Windows 9x/ME/NT4.0/2000/XP/2003.
- At least 32 MB of RAM, a mouse, and enough disk space for recovered files,
image files, etc.
- The administrative privileges are required to install and run R-Linux under
WinNT/2000/XP/2003.

Search PDF uses the pdftotext utility from Xpdf. Xpdf is an open source viewer

(all windows) My pc is buried under my desk so the Cd tray is hard to reach.
There are many tray openers out there but I don't want one that runs in the
background. This is designed to open the tray of whatever drive letter quickly.
By default, it will open your D: drive, wait for 10 seconds and then close the
tray. If you finish early, you can just press enter to close the tray. If you
have a different drive than D: drive (e.g., e: drive), just make a command in
your shortcut (e.g., Trayquickie.exe E: ) with the semicolon, and it will
launch the drive you specified. If you have more than one drive, just make
different shortcuts point to different drives. Finally, press the {Insert} key
will extend 15 seconds before closing the drive.
