Re: [Friends of DigiComp] Re: Super-Digi-Comp 8Bit Flip flop

I cannot find the file "logic.bmp" in the specified file.  I am interested in
the
development of mechanical computers utilizing similar materials, especially
those that can be created on a CNC machine now that they are becoming
affordable and better quality-wise.

It would not be beyond reason to replicate a Digi-Comp on such a machine.

Could you expand a little more on the listed file?  I explored it a little but
not
sure of the representation.

Fred.

My interest with DigiComp comes from my obsession with trying to design
mechanical logic gates. I want something that does NOT rely on marbles rolling
through, but mechanical rods or gears. This would work just fine, as long as
there was some kind of buffer that will copy an input to an output without
putting any back-pressure on the input, and producing a delay (for feedback). I
could make a mechanical computer that would only need a crank to power it (for
the buffers).

I thought this would be the place to share this idea, but so far nobody seems
to care :P
But perhaps an electromechanical engineer does? I have a diagram:
