I'm in NY this year, with a fellowship at NYU in Journalism.
We have several newsrooms here with community computers. They're all modern
Intel Macs. Beautiful computers.
As part of a class a couple of days ago I wanted to show them the AFP wire photo
feed we have and how the photo aggregator works. In order to do that I had to
install the OPML Editor. I didn't have any problem doing that. But when I
launched the OPML app, it said it needed to install the Rosetta app, and I had
to enter the admin password. Of course I don't have that, and they're not going
to give it to me without going through a correctly complex process.
Pretty sure I wouldn't have hit any walls if I didn't need Rosetta installed.
So, the theory that we can keep waiting for the native version seems incorrect.
