Yeah! I love a good insult. Something matters to us that doesn't
matter to you. Or maybe you just don't want us to talk about it.
Why not just say that, instead of calling us names?

My comments (which you weren't responding to, but they're part of the
thread) had nothing to do with wanting to save any of their body
parts.
It's about unifying the community and our efforts. They have
experienced kernel developers. We have one or two experienced kernel
developers, and more that are learning as fast as their schedules
allow.
I'm not worried about incompatible versions at this point... our
stable release will move too slowly to diverge from anything on its
own, and Userland moves almost as slowly as we do. If they come out
with some significant changes, we'll still be compatible with 99.9% of
the installed base.
So again, I'm just arguing for the sake of unified development
efforts. Working together, we don't all have to work on the same
problems. I can work on the long address bug while Andre works on the
table optimizations while Jake works on support for long filenames
while Thomas works on CVS issues... etc., etc., etc.
Under the current confusing situation, what are people going to do if
(for example) Userland fixes the long filename bug but we fix the long
address bug and optimize tables? You won't be able to get it all in
one place.
Maybe you don't care about this stuff. I do.
