The big factors I go by in choosing any host are
1) Services Offered (Server Side Scripting such as ASP/.net/PHP etc
for hosting databases and such. Even if not used now its good to
think of future expansion. Is a Unix box satisfactory or am I
going to be using FP features that use ASP and require a
Windows server?)
2) Allowable bandwidth per month
3) Space
4) Speed
5) Customer Service and Support
6) Cost! (This sometimes moves up the ranking!)

We use http://www.realvaluehosting.com and it is incredibly well
priced, feature rich etc etc....they are the best host we've used
over the last 6 years.
