Hi,
I have an FS2 controller on my Centurion 18. I am close to
completing a project where I can start controlling the scope
remotely. The limitation I have with the FS2, is once the controller
is powered down, the telescope looses its sync.
I have come up with a solution and I would like to find out if you
think this would work:
I can set a park position in TheSky software, for example, 180 deg
Azimuth and 20 Altitude . At the end of the observing run, I would
send the telescope to this park position (through TheSky) and then
immediately power down the FS2 controller. When I start again the
next night, I would start TheSky, find 180 deg Azimuth, 20deg
Altitude, start the FS2 and immediately sync the telescope to the
corresponding RA and Dec position. This should sync the telescope
physical position to the night sky. If I do this fast enough, I
should be within a few arc minutes.
Would this work? Does anyone have a better solution for the FS2?
Thanks,
~David
