Yes, you can use either the existing stepper motors, or you can
replace them by ESCAP P530 motors with 12:1 gearbox.
The drawback of the original motors is the large gear ratio, which
allows only small slewing speed.

no.

I'm unsure, because I have never tested it.

Yes, that's possible. Please have a look at the instructions on the
webiste: http://www.astro-electronic.de/software.htm
You can either set the telescope type to "LX200", or you can use the
ASCOM driver.
