SECM3 and Skywachter EQ6 Gear ration   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #73 of 178 |

Gents,

I receive from a friend of my  SECM3 motors (Bought via Michael Koch) with a gear box 10:1,

I like to use this motors in a EQ6 Sky watcher  havy-duty mount. I am looking for the total gear ratio

Include the gearbox of secm3 10:1.   (200 step motor)

On the site  http://www.astro-electronic.de/eq6.htm I found a gear ratio of 720:1 but this is  related to modification 1.

I think in modification 2. The secm3 motors are used what is in that situation the gear ratio?

I looked on the internet and I found different ratios. I think EQ6 I have the one with the worm gear of 180 tooth and the gear on the worm is 47 tooth and on the one which will be connected to secm3 i47 tooth, although the first two I don’t know, by sure.

For example which gear ratio is defined in the FS2?

Please help me out to solve this problem.

Thanks on for hand.

Greetings

Chris Alberts
