Run slideshow from memory stick?   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #256 of 521 |
I copied a folder from my PC with images and a GSS file to a memory
stick. I added the gPhoto exe file and tried to run it from the memory
stick when visiting friends. I didn't want to copy anything to the
friend's computer.

I first got the message that I needed to register, so I put in my
registration number. But then I could not figure out how to get the
slide show running. All I got was the gPhoto configuration screen. If I
started by clicking on the GSS file, I was asked what program to use
and had to browse through to the memory stick. This still didn't get my
slide show running.

Is there something obvious I'm missing? I would prefer not to make one
gigantic new self-executing file, as this just doubles the storage on
my hard drive if I save it. This is because I have lots of slide shows
set up on my PC. Depending on where I'm going, I like to copy an
appropriate on off to the memory stick to take with me.

Thank you. The batch file approach seems to work, although I'll have to try it on some machine where I don't have gPhoto installed and in the registry. The...

Ok, it should work without problems also on machines where gPhotoShow has never been installed. This is the way it has been designed. Best Regards Gianpaolo...
