The gawk manual has lots of examples and quotes an ftp address where
Arnold Robbins (the gawk maintainer) stores some useful awk scripts.
For the gawk manual:
<url:
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=23617&release_id=4
9017>
scroll down to gawk and download the doc.zip file (5+Mb). It contains
the gawk manual in various formats - pdf, ps, html, etc..
