Aging concepts in GP   Topic List   < Prev Topic  |  Next Topic >

Dear colleagues,

I would appreciate any hint to some more recent papers on the
application of aging concepts to genetic programming, i.e., the aging
of single individuals within a population.

Is it worth engaging into it? What are the effects in respect to
convergence, avoiding local optima etc.?

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards,

Michael Harwerth

Thanks Greg, colleagues, that is now an interesting concept, as one could expect offspring tranporting most of the already exploited gene set and in most cases...

I think children need to be older than their parents, otherwise it is possible that a set of genes at the top of a local optima could keep its age (through its...
