Hi,

My first post.

I want to look for patterns in the human dna series. Things like this.
"Everytime there are 3 CATs in a row, say, 27 letters later there is a GTT".
I am a C programmer and write AI and other complicated software. There must
be (or should be) people doing this everywhere to help "crack the nut" but
maybe not, I don't know.

To do this I need a copy of the sequence, all billion+ letters but I need
them broken up into pieces so I can download them and put them on CDs. Maybe
this is already available somewhere.

I am intrigued at how a linear sequence of characters (one dimension) can
encode instructions for a three dimensional shape. Perhaps it works like
fractals. I've got a lot of time on my hands..

Anybody here know where that data is available on the Net and sites on
similar efforts?.
