The Mono project today released Mono 2.0, the latest version of its open source alternative .Net application framework. With Mono users can run .Net applications on most platforms without needing to recompile the code.
Backed by Novell, the latest release of Mono includes support for ADO.NET 2.0 API for accessing databases, ASP.NET 2.0 API for developing Web-based applications, Windows.Forms 2.0 API to create desktop applications, System.XML 2.0 API to manipulate XML documents, System.Core, System.Xml.Linq and System.Drawing 2.0 API for graphics rendering.
Mono 2.0 can be run on a range of operating systems including Linux, Windows and Mac. Mono 2.0 can be downloaded for free.http://www.tectonic.co.za/?p=3282
