Jim,
You should disable desktop wallpaper slideshow: unselect all wallpapers, and
"save changes"; then restart Windows7. At least, this works on my
installation of build 7100.

Hi Andrei,
I did customize my desktop using the desktop personalization tool.
I restarted windows and it is still happening.
Is the only way to stop this from happening to "turn off"
personalization? How do I do that? I didn't see an obvious way to do it.
