This newsgroup is a public forum for people wanting to share ideas about using GPS for mapping/surveying. As a natural extension, I'm sure it will touch on GPS data integration into desktop applications, coordinate systems/datums, DGPS sources such as WAAS/radio beacon, GPS data collection hardware/software, and related subjects.

I started this newsgroup because in my teaching of the subject at various places in North America and around the world, I found the demand for such an information exchange forum growing as the popularity of GPS increases. Thanks for joining, Eric Gakstatter.
