Hermit Creek is considered the most benign of the non-maintained
trails, but I would caution you to begin your hike out by no later than
7 a.m., and 6 a.m. would be even better. The concern is that you do
not want to be on the Cathedral Stairs in the hot part of the day (10
a.m. to 3 p.m.). Also, make sure you have plenty of water when you
leave camp for the hike out. I recall that the trail from the Hermit
Creek camp to the river is quite short and simple. You should have no
trouble locating it.

I've secured a permit for Hermit Creek camp at the end of Sept. and was wondering if anyone could tell me about the trail from Hermit Creek camp to the river?...
