Tanner Trail or New Hance   Message List

I would like to either hike the Tanner trail at Lippan point to the river
or,

New Hance to Grandview trail. Can anyone tell me if there are skinny spots
on the trail? You know, where the trail comes close to the edge, and might
be scary?

Thanks,

Terrie

Terrie, Good choice (October). I recall only one section, about 50 feet long, that was a narrow, somewhat precarious ledge--wide enough for your feet, but...

Jim, I hope I'm not repeating myself. I think I might do the Bill Hall trek. It sounds really nice, and less crowded. Soooo --- how about the skinny spots? ...

Terri, The descent from the top of the Bill Hall trail is steep and the trail is strewn with stones, as typical of most non-maintained trails near the rim. ...
