That is the original signing from when 480 was built. At that time
there was to be a 480/422 overlap from the Bedford Freeway ic to 271.
The Bedford Freeway wasn't killed until several years later.

BTW the express lanes on 271 were supposed to go west along 480 to
77. That is the reason the 480 bridges over the Cuyahoga are
seperated. There was to be a center bridge for the express lanes.
