Dear All,

First, I would like welcome all those who have recently registered to our
Gridcomputing.com informal newsletter.

I just wanted to share some new developments in grid computing and Gridbus
especially in the context of our Gridbus project. I visited India (Bangalore,
Chennai, Hyderabad) and Korea (Seoul) in August month. As a results I have some
things share, which might of interest to some of you:
------------------------------------
1. In India, I visited several IT companies including IBM, Satyam, Wipro,
Infosys -- I was glad to learn that several companies have jumped into Grid
computing and started developing both grid technologies and applications.
Gridbus project has started collaborating with them in R&D; some of them wants
to use or already using Gridbus related technologies in their work. One company
we started building stronger interaction at this moment is Satyam
(www.satyam.com). For more information on our interaction in grid education and
R&D with Satyam, please see a news article:
http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2005/08/31/stories/2005083100950400.htm

2. In Korea, I attended a APEC workshop on grid computing and "Korean Symposium
on Grid Business Models". In Korea, many companies started developing products
specially in the area of gaming and content delivery for multimedia
applications. I have presented my thoughts on "Recent advances in grid computing
and business models: a Gridbus perspective". Especially I presented on various
models and compared activities in grid in India and Australia. Please see my
prevention slides for more details:

If you have any comments on this, please let me know.
------------------------------------

* On a related note, I would like to share with you about E-Science 2005
conference: IEEE International Conference on e-Science and Grid Computing (Dec.
5-8, 2005). I would like to invite you to participate in this conference. Also,
to assist participation of students, we are offering "student awards", which
pays their registration fee. High profile people in e-Science and grid computing
area from ground the world are attending this meeting including our Minister for
ICT. It will be great to see some of you at this meeting. For details on how to
register and attend, please see the conference website:
