Dear Friends:
We (GRIDS Lab @ the University of Melbourne, Monash University, and Osaka
University)
have submitted a proposal: "Economic and On Demand Brain Activity Analysis on
the
World-Wide Grid using Nimrod-G and Gridbus Technologies" for the "HPC Challenge"
event at
the upcoming SC 2002 conference. We just heard that our proposal is one of the
six
proposals selected out of 19 submissions for demonstration during the HPC
Challenge
demonstrations. So, we are very excited about this opportunity, but a great
challenge is
ahead!
The demonstration is expected to be : 1) Most Data Intensive 2) Most
Geographically
Distributed, and 3) Most Heterogeneous. That means, this requirement can be
achieved only
with the kind support of colleagues like you. Therefore, we request you support
and
cooperation. If you happen to have your computers (clusters, workstations,
etc.)
running Globus 2.0 or above, can you please provide us access to them ?
If the above request is agreeable to you, can you please provide us access to
your
machines (running Globus 2.0 or above) by creating an account as follows:
---------------------------
1. Create an account for our use on your machine (Optional Step). (e.g.,
account_name =
"rajkumar" and initial password = "YOU choose it" and please let me know the
password you
assigned and host/machine address for telnet/ssh.)
2. Authorise us to use your machine by adding following line to Globus
grid-mapfile (which
is in < globus-deploy >/etc directory):
"/O=Grid/O=Globus/OU=cs.mu.oz.au/CN=Rajkumar Buyya" rajkumar
3. Please email me your "Hostname" on which you created account! along with
you resource info (arch, type of job manager your running fork/some queuing
system).
--------------------------
Note: If you want to skip Step 1, then you need to replace "rajkumar" by any
other account
name that has authorization to access your machine.
I look forward hearing from your in the near future.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best wishes
Raj
