Hi GStar users. My name is Frederick, I have been an amateur astronomer for a
few years now, am a member of the Astronomical Society of Sth. Aust. and I have
recently joined the GStar group. I do not have a GStar unit at this time (I am
expecting one for my birthday in December!). I possess a NextStar 8" and have
just bought a wedge for it. I intend to house the scope in an obervatory I am
currently building in my yard. In addition to direct observation, I am looking
to hook up the scope to a computer in my house ready for the longer GStar maging
sessions. I am looking for advice regarding the better/best way of hooking up
the scope to the computer (40m away) as well as ideas for the better/best types
of software to complement the GStar in capturing and manipulating images. As I
am new to the imaging game, would you also please provide a general overview of
what you do re the image capturing process - from setting up the scope/GStar
combination through to generating the finished image.
